nightmaredoodles asked: what is the strangest thing that has happened to you at work

Hmmm, that’s a tough one. Though a lot of the things that first come to mind aren’t weird. But I was able to think of one!

One night I was closing along with a guy who’s really cool and fun to talk to, and my manager was downstairs helping bag. A customer came up all worried and nervous, saying that there was someone in the store with a sword. My manager starts freaking out and he tells us he’s gonna walk around the store and find the guy, but just as he’s going to leave the customer shows up. And you could see the sword clear as day in his shopping cart.

So my manager tells us to just be quiet and don’t bring attention to the sword. The cashier guy instead says, ‘Cool sword, is that a Katana?’ When I hear that I just turned around all excited asking ‘Really?! Where can I see! Cool you have a Katana?!’ While we say that, our manager goes pale and probably was about to faint.

The guy just laughed and pulled the sword out of the sheath to show, it’s not a sword. It’s an umbrella. The handle was made to look like a katana hand guard and the umbrella carrier was made to look like the sheath. The cashier and I just laughed and thought that was really cool, the manager had to go sit down.

Watching Cardcaptor Sakura and…

Wolf and I were chatting and he looked up an episode list, and he saw the list of episodes released in North America. This caused a lot of confusion and me doubting my memories of childhood.

Why?

Cause A LOT of episodes were cut for the North American release, I mean A LOT! The problem with that is I remembered watching a lot of this ‘cut’ episodes. It’s pretty much become expected that soon after the episode starts I know the card that is gonna show up, and I’m always right. But a lot of these episodes were cut.

I didn’t watch subs when I was a kid, and I JUST started reading the manga recently. So it’s not like my memories weren’t getting mixed up. So I’m getting more confused then we realize… the dub version Canada got, was the one that was used in Australia and the UK. Not for the States.

So… it’s weird but we just realized the version of Cardcaptors I watched as a kid? Not the same version as the states. XDD

Jing, Jing what is with your hair?! Erg… at least with the 2012 drawing I don’t hate her hair as much. My more recent drawings of her are more of what she will look like a few years after the events of Dragonlords. Character wise, Jing has gone from a self centered, hateful and… actually rather scared kid to someone far more mature and you can depend on after dragonlords. I’m NOT gonna go into detail here what happens to her yet (night try Karu XP), but she does work to prove she’s worthy of the gift Palari gave her. XP

Kai. Kai why did you pick two that make me go into the dust covered, forgotten layer of deviantart?! OLD ART WHY?! *coughs* Anyways…

My sona has the beginnings of my horrible fan girl Inuyasha phase that I wish I could just forget. Originally she was a demon fox who could turn into a blue fox and has horribly bright red cloths. Unfortunately that’s how I drew myself until 2007 when I started just using the fox form and the other was never touched again. In 2008/09 I learned about funsonas and started drawing some characters as anthros. So of course that blue fox needed a horrible anthro form with camo pants cause that’s all I ever wore at the time. Luckily her cloths changed after that but design wise not much has changed with the blue fox form over time, besides her colors getting less saturated. Also, her ears are more fluffy!

Oh look, a character just as old, if not older then my sona, but I cannot seem to find any older art from before he was draawn anthro. @_@; Sorry. Raonio was the first pet on Neo I made that actually got a character and a design. Though his design was lazy and unoriginal. A fire bori with different colored eyes and the tail tip had fire not fur. Ya, so different. >.> Anyways, over time he became the mature, father figure character that was so fucking OP but it was never explained for years. Once I started drawing him again I tried to actually come up with more of a character for him and he became the immortal cursed god. Everytime he died he was reborn in a new body, so I got to draw him as all kinds of species and also in the future when the seal over him is broken you get to see him in his kick ass god form. XD; So ya, he has gone through a lot of changes but I still love this guy.
